Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson has welcomed a delegation from the University of Seychelles (UniSey), led by Vice-Chancellor Ms. Joëlle Perreau, at the Council Chamber.

During the visit, Ms. Perreau emphasized the need to operationalize the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. She highlighted key areas for collaboration, including staff and student exchanges, research partnerships, and professional training programs, particularly in tourism and healthcare.
"We would like to explore areas of opportunities and collaboration in the MoU and discuss how it can come to fruition," she stated.
Dr. Justin Zelime, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Development at UniSey, elaborated on their interest in collaborating on programs including ICT, education, health, and social care.
He underscored UniSey’s national mandate to conduct research in education and social issues.
"We want to collaborate with KNUST in the exchange of researchers and other areas to enhance empirical research and knowledge-sharing in Business, Law, and Health," he said.
Dr. Zelime also recognized the significance of cross-cultural learning in academia, emphasizing the historical relationship between Asanteman and Seychelles.
"We have seen how Ghana places importance on culture, and we are excited about the potential for sharing and learning from each other," he added.
Professor Dickson reaffirmed KNUST's commitment to fast-track the MoU’s terms of reference to ensure mutual benefits for both institutions.
"We see this visit as a step in the right direction to kick-starting a strong partnership, and we cherish this collaboration," she remarked.
