The KNUST E-Learning Centre has held a meeting with the University’s Exams Audit Team to review the process for computer-based examinations.
The session formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital assessment and improve coordination across departments.
The meeting brought together the Centre’s leadership, Director, Professor Emmanuel Kofi Akowuah and Senior Assistant Registrar Abigail Dzama Anderson, along with team members from the Proctor and Online Assessment Unit.
Officials reviewed timelines, information flow, and the planning required to support smooth exam periods across the University.
The team explored ways of increasing the scope of computer-based exams while maintaining high quality assurance within the University.
This included an assessment of current practice and areas that require further alignment as demand for digital assessment continues to grow.
As part of the review, the Centre and its partners examined the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model, which was piloted during the previous academic year.
The team noted that the model presents one pathway for sustainable expansion of computer-based examinations and has been adopted in many universities worldwide.
The E-Learning Centre and its partners will continue to explore and refine the BYOD model and other strategies aimed at enabling the University to scale up computer-based examinations while upholding high standards of quality.
