The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has hosted the Vice-Chancellor of Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE), Zimbabwe, at the University’s Council Chamber.
Dean of the International Programmes Office, Professor Daniel Duah, stated that the delegation’s visit was part of BUSE’s broader agenda to establish strategic partnerships with institutions of higher learning in Ghana.
He highlighted the importance of international collaborations in enhancing academic excellence and knowledge exchange.

Professor Eddie Mwenje, Vice-Chancellor of BUSE, expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST for the warm reception.
He emphasized the need for audiologists in Zimbabwe, a country with a population of approximately 15 million, and noted that the nation is yet to develop expertise in the field.
Given KNUST’s reputation in health sciences, he expressed a strong interest in collaborating with the university to establish an Audiology Programme at BUSE.
As part of their visit, the BUSE delegation toured the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) section of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and was highly impressed with the facilities and ongoing developments.
Professor Mwenje reaffirmed his institution’s eagerness to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate academic cooperation and capacity building.

Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, welcomed the proposed collaboration, emphasizing KNUST’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial relationships with institutions that share its vision for academic excellence and societal impact.
“KNUST is always excited to open its doors to like-minded institutions that seek to make a meaningful impact in society. We are committed to providing the necessary support to ensure the success of this collaboration,” she stated.
