An alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), Joel Kwabena Aboagye, has led MAC Partners Group to win the Best Exhibitor Marketing Campaign Award at the 2026 West Africa Mining and Power Conference and Exhibition (WAMPEX), highlighting the growing impact of KNUST graduates across industry and corporate communications.
The award, introduced for the first time at WAMPEX 2026, recognises exhibitors who demonstrated exceptional promotional impact and audience engagement before and during the exhibition. MAC Partners Group secured the recognition after recording the highest number of visitor registrations through a targeted and personalised marketing campaign.
Joel Aboagye, a graduate of KNUST’s Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design programme under the Faculty of Arts and the Marketing Lead at MAC Partners Group, described the recognition as a significant milestone for both himself and the MAC Partners Group team.
“This is a recognition of the dedication, creativity, and strategic effort we have invested over the years in building the MAC Partners brand and positioning the company as a leading mining support services provider in West Africa,” he said.
He noted that the recognition reflects the increasing importance of strategic communication, branding, and stakeholder engagement within the mining industry while motivating the team to continue driving innovation and measurable impact.
Reflecting on his professional journey, Joel credited his education at KNUST for equipping him with the creative and analytical skills that continue to shape his career.
“My education at KNUST provided the foundation for my professional journey by developing my creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills,” he stated.
According to him, the Communication Design programme challenged him to think strategically, communicate effectively, and apply creative storytelling to solve complex industry challenges.
He explained that his professional experiences at Citi FM/Citi TV, Newmont Africa, and now MAC Partners Group have enabled him to combine creative communication with technical and engineering concepts to strengthen corporate storytelling and brand visibility within the mining sector.
