Teaching Assistants and National Service Personnel at the Centre for Settlements Studies (CSS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi have completed their service year after gaining skills in research and community engagement.
Over the year, they supported academic work, assisted in community projects, and gained field research experience.
Speaking at a send-off lunch themed “From Service to Success: Embracing Opportunities in the Next Chapter,” Head of the Centre Prof. Owusu Amponsah urged the outgoing group to share opportunities, particularly in scholarships and jobs. He advised them to use their experience as a foundation for future growth.
Research Fellow Henry Boafo also addressed the group, stressing the importance of confidence and resilience after service. He encouraged them to build on their skills and pursue new opportunities.
The programme ended with a lunch supported by senior members of the Centre, followed by a photo session. It capped a year in which the assistants and personnel contributed to both academic and outreach work at the Centre.
