Internal Advertisement: Call for Applications for Appointments
It is announced for the information of suitable candidates that some vacancies exist in the under-listed positions in the University. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified STAFF for appointment to the positions of Junior Assistant Registrars, Assistant Accountants, Junior Assistant Internal Auditors, Junior Systems Analysts, Assistant Quantity Surveyors, Assistant Architects, Assistant Engineers, Junior Assistant Estate Officers, Assistant Procurement Officers and Assistant Stores Officers in the University.
The Person
The position requires:
- Dynamic, self-motivated, result-oriented and competent persons with proven ability;
- Team players with good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, exhibit high sense of initiative and managerial skills;
- Must be computer literate; and,
- Must be of the rank of a Principal Administrative Assistant and analogous grades.
Qualification
- Junior Assistant Registrars
- Must have a minimum of Master’s Degree and/or equivalent professional qualification in a specialized area.
- Must have served at least as Principal Administrative Assistant in the Registrar’s Offices for not less than five (5) years
- Assistant Accountants/Junior Assistant Internal Auditors/Assistant Procurement Officers/Assistant Stores Officers
- Must have a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ICT, Purchasing and Supply, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management or any relevant field;
- Must be a member or possess the final examination certificate of ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, CIPS, CISA, MCIPS and Certified Internal Auditor; and
- Must have served at least as Principal Accounting Assistant or its equivalent grade in the Finance Office, Internal Audit Department, Procurement Office or University Stores for not less than five (5) years
- Junior Systems Analysts
- A minimum of Master’s Degree and/or equivalent professional qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Analysis, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Intelligence or a similar field of study; and,
- Must have served at least as Principal ICT Assistant in the University for not less than five (5) years.
- Assistant Quantity Surveyors/Assistant Architects/Assistant Engineers/Junior Assistant Estate Officers
- A postgraduate degree in Architecture/Construction Technology and Management, Civil Engineering, Land Economy or equivalent qualification;
- Must be a certified Member of a relevant Professional Body; and
- Must have served at least as Principal Clerk of Works, Principal Estate Assistant or its equivalent in the Development Office or Estate Organisation for not less than five (5) years
Mode of Application
Qualified candidates may pick Application Forms at the Office of the Deputy Registrar, Human Resource Development (HRD), Room 214 at the Main Administration Block.
Completed Application Forms with Curriculum Vitae, copies of relevant certificates, two (2) Referee Reports, one of which should be from the applicant’s Head of Department/Section should be submitted to the Deputy Registrar, HRD, not later than FRIDAY, JULY 18, 2025.
Selection Process
- All applicants shall be examined and scored on relevant issues within their respective Departments/Offices or the University as a whole;
- All applicants shall be screened and scored by a panel of their respective Departments or Offices following the written examination; and,
- A report on the outcome of (1) and (2) must accompany the applications of suitable shortlisted candidates to the AAPC for consideration.
