The HM KNUST Low Vision Project, led by Dr. Kwadwo Owusu Akuffo of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Prof. Dr. rer. biol. hum. Werner Eisenbarth of Hochschule München, announces the West African Low Vision Workshop 2026 – The Maiden Edition, scheduled for 27th February to 1st March 2026 at the Mastercard Impact Building, KNUST.

Since its inception, the project has established four functional low vision centres in the Ashanti Region, strengthening access to low vision rehabilitation services and advancing capacity building in Ghana.

The regional workshop will bring together eye care professionals, researchers, students and stakeholders to foster collaboration and accelerate progress in low vision care across West Africa through lectures and practical training sessions.
