The Wellness Centre of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in partnership with the Sports Directorate has organised a bi-monthly 'Saturday Walk and Aerobics' to develop muscle strength and promote wellness and healthy living among KNUST staff and students.
Professor (Mrs.) Ibok Oduro, the Centre's Head, stated that prevention and wellness are the foundation of the event. She expects higher productivity in the coming months because of the campaign. 'KNUST Wellness Centre focuses on prevention rather than cure, so if we prioritize our employees' well-being, productivity will follow,' she added.
The second edition of the 'Saturday Walk and Aerobics' began at the Centre's forecourt on Saturday, February 26, 2022, and went through the following routes, Main Administration of KNUST, Senior Staff Clubhouse, Okodee Road, through the Bomso Roundabout to Paa Joe Roundabout, and then back to the Centre.
The programme which is expected the come off twice every month saw participants treated to series of aerobic exercises.

Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST was enthusiastic about the programme and encouraged staff and students to participate in the subsequent editions.
Participants praised the organisers for the initiative and expressed the hope that it would become a weekly event to help them network, socialise and also to de-stress from the week's office and lecture hall activities.
