The various Colleges at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, welcomed their freshmen for the 2024/2025 academic year with an orientation programme.
The programme aimed to equip all fresh students with the knowledge and information needed to help them succeed in academic and social life on campus.
Students were enlightened by experienced university resource persons on the University’s Assessment/Grading System, and examination regulations to ensure that the new students were well-informed and prepared for their academic assessments.
The students were also introduced to the university rules and regulations and sanctions meted out to students who go against the University’s rules.

Other topics covered were the maintenance of University Facilities and Environmental Cleanliness at the College; the Roles of Students, University Health Services, Student Associations,
The orientation programme also emphasized the importance of mental health and well-being, encouraging students to utilize available support services.
To foster a sense of community, the programme encouraged participation in extracurricular activities and highlighted the benefits of joining clubs and organizations that align with students' interests. This engagement is crucial for building social connections and enhancing the overall university experience.
