A delegation from Empire Sports Agency and other sporting agencies has paid a visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, to discuss plans for scouting trials aimed at unearthing the talents of student athletes.
Mr. Daniel Boifio Junior, Head of Empire Sports Agency, revealed that the initiative was born through discussions with the student leadership on organizing a scouting trial for student athletes at KNUST, to explore opportunities for them abroad.
"It's all about identifying student talents and giving them opportunities to enhance their potential," he said.
He noted that other agencies, including Legacy Sports Agency, have joined in scouting for talented athletes, with international scouts from Europe also expressing the same interest.

Mr. Sharaf Dramani Mahama, FIFA Licensing Agent, revealed that he and his team will collaborate with KNUST to create more sporting opportunities for KNUST athletes.
"We seek to help develop talent, and there are other initiatives we want to take up. We'll be working with KNUST so we can introduce more initiatives on campus," he stated.

Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, noting that KNUST is committed to preparing students to contribute meaningfully to society.
"There is something that keeps us awake: preparing these students with stakeholders and handing them back to society in a way that makes them very useful. We are here to train global professionals," she said.
She reiterated the University's commitment to nurturing students' capabilities in all fields, including sports.
"Any exercise that will unearth the capabilities of our students excites us. They are intelligent, they are smart, and nothing should prevent the talents embedded in them from being showcased, including their sporting prowess. We have the talents here," she affirmed.
The Vice-Chancellor assured the delegation of the readiness of KNUST to harness students' abilities for the benefit of the globe.
"KNUST's doors are always open because we believe that students' talents must be brought out, and they must shine for the whole world to see. When they do, Ghana, Africa, and the globe win," she concluded.

Also present at the meeting from KNUST were the Director of Student Affairs, Professor Marian Asantewah Nkansah; Deputy Director of Student Affairs, Professor Akwasi Acheampong Aning; Director of Sports, Dr. Timothy Kwabena Mensah; University Relations Officer, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe; Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah, Assistant Registrar; SRC President and Vice, Kane Nana Francis and Samuel Afful; and former SRC President, Samuel Sesah.
