2025 China-Africa Automotive Development Forum

Empowering a Sustainable Automotive Future

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is proud to host the 2025 China-Africa Automotive Development Forum, a flagship academic and industrial event on Tuesday, 10th June, 2025 at the College of Engineering, KNUST. This forum aims to strengthen cooperation between China and Africa in advancing electric vehicle (EV) innovation and sustainable transportation solutions.

Theme and Objectives

The theme of the forum is "Intelligent Manufacturing of Lightweight Electric Vehicles."

The key objectives are to:

  • Foster transcontinental academic exchange
  • Promote research collaboration in intelligent lightweight EV manufacturing technologies
  • Explore Africa's potential in EV manufacturing, component development, infrastructure planning, and policy formulation

The forum will feature discussions on:

  • Africa's manufacturing potential for new energy vehicles
  • Innovation in automotive components
  • Lightweight materials in EV production
  • Smart automotive safety systems

The forum will host a distinguished delegation from the Hubei University of Automotive Technology (HUAT), China, as well as stakeholders from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. Participants will include university faculty and students, industry professionals, policymakers, regulators, entrepreneurs, and media representatives.
