Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (WISTEM-KNUST) in collaboration with the Office of Grants and Research, (OGR) KNUST has organised a 3-day webinar series on research capacity building for 40 Academic Staff of Takoradi Technical University (TTU). The training dubbed “Building the Capabilities of the next generation of Technical University staff for impactful research output” was held via zoom from 6th to 8th October, 2020.
The Dean of OGR, Professor Robert Clement Abaidoo congratulated TTU for recognizing the importance of research and the need to build the appropriate structures to achieve its significance. He advised the academic staff of TTU to execute their research agenda and publish their works so that people can read and learn from their experience.
Professor Abaidoo also applauded WISTEM for taking up the task to lead in the 3-day webinar to support academic staff of TTU in their effort to build a strong research capacity and to also learn about scholarships, grantsmanship and publication.
Professor Keolebogle Shirley Motuang of Tshwane University of Technology (TUT South Africa); Professor Atinuke Adebanji, Professor Ibok Oduro, Dr. Kingsley Badu, Dr. Alexander Kwarteng, Dr. Cynthia Amanning, Dr. Priscilla Mante and Dr. Mavis Enti Osei all from KNUST treated Seeking Scholarship Opportunities, conceiving research idea and Translating idea into impactful research, Building Resilience in the academic journey, Sponsorship Seeking and Facing rejection in research.
Other members of staff also shared their academic experiences to motivate, encourage and give hope to the trainees in pursuing their academic careers and journeys.
