The Senior Staff Association of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi is the latest to join in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The association on Thursday, 9th April, 2020 donated Personal Protective Equipment worth two thousand Ghana cedis (Gh₵2,000) to the KNUST hospital. The items include; 50 pieces of 1PC Polybags and 25 pieces of nose masks fitted with respirators.
The donation was made on behalf of the association by the President of the Association, Mr George Ansong, Vice President Abraham Appau Acquah, Secretary, James Kwesi Annang, Assistant Secretary Kwadwo Bediako-Baryeh and the Women’s Commissioner, Josephine Felicity Apenyo Adom.
Presenting the items to the University hospital, Mr. George Ansong observed that, the Association has noticed the self-sacrifice of the health personnel in the wake of the pandemic and has therefore, decided to support them by donating the items to help frontline health workers to effectively manage COVID-19 pandemic.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, the Administrator of the University hospital, Mr. Ebenezer Baah-Boateng, thanked the members of the Association for their support and pledged that the things will be put to good use for the benefit of all.
