The Head of the Finance Department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr. Kingsley Adu has celebrated his 60th birthday in a memorable style at Golden Tulip Hotel, Kumasi.
Great achievers need to be celebrated and as such celebrating the 60th birthday of the Head of Finance of KNUST was appropriate. The memorable celebration was held in one of the conference rooms of the hotel.
In a welcome address, the Deputy Finance Officer, Mr. Mensah Bonsu expressed joy for being part of the birthday celebration. He told the gathering of the unity which has existed among the staff of the Finance office under the leadership of Mr. Kingsley Adu. Mr. Bonsu maintained that, Mr. Kingsley Adu's impact over the years has positively stabilized the financial status of the University. He advised his colleagues to work earnestly to maintain and improve the status of finances of the University just as their leader Mr. Adu had done so far.
During the optional speeches section, Mr. Fred Essien a senior member at the Finance office,expressed happiness for being part of an occasion such as that. He also advised his fellow colleagues to work harder and follow the good footsteps of their boss.
Mr. Osei Wusu adviced the gathering to lead good lives worthy of admiration. He also encouraged his colleagues to be dedicated to their work and have respect for authority and among themselves.
Mr. Samuel Asare Kyere briefed the audience on the benefits he had gained from the experiences he received from Mr. Kingsley Adu since he began working with him some years back.
Mr. Appiah Kubi shared a goodwill message and expressed how fortunate he was to have worked with Mr. Adu.
In a response, Mr. Kingsley Adu expressed profound gratitude to the staff of the Finance Department and invited guests for the honour done him on his 60th birthday. He advised the staff to be extra vigilant with their work. He said, they would continue to encounter challenges but they should try as much as possible to stay out of trouble. Mr. Adu encouraged the staff to observe working ethics and continue to seek knowledge in addition to the ones already acquired.
A representative from the Ghana Commercial Bank, Mr. Kwasi Agyemang,
(Deputy Corporate Manager, Kumasi zone) presented a nice art piece from the Bank to Mr. Kingsley Adu as his birthday present. The staff of the Finance office also presented assorted gifts and a giant card to Mr. Kingsley Adu and his wife.
The event was chaired by Professor Kwame Sarpong, Chairman of the GUSSS Board.
