It was a gleaming moment to remember as the final years for tomorrow's graduation trooped into the great hall to rehearse for their graduations due the next day. At around 16:45 GMT, the seats in the great hall were steadily being seized by anxious final years who had arrived for their rehearsals. Gradually, the hall was almost filed. As some of them sat down quietly anticipating instructions from the registrar, others used the waiting time as an opportunity to gossip about all the latest news in town. The occasion began with an opening prayer to thank God for his goodness and mercies. The ceremony quickly progressed. The period of the orientation was one of fun as it was absent of the normal campus academic tense atmosphere; it was interspersed with laughter especially when the deputy registrar made a funny comment about the Agric students.
In fact, the rehearsal was really fun indeed, and when it was time to demonstrate specific conduct required by the graduands, the whole hall was in an uproar as if they were gathered for a comedy programme. The student could not help laughing their lungs out as instructions were given with rest following in he next order gown fittings, how to wear the cap, to mention but a few. There was an order for seating arrangements; first class students on the front seats while the rest follow in that order. What a grea honour for the lucky students! Some students who spoke to the congregation coverage stressed on the importance of graduation ceremonies and shared cursory views of their four years experience on KNUST campus. To them, they were excited about their graduation and were grateful to God for his care and guidance.
