The Vice-Chancellor, Professor William Otoo Ellis has honoured James Mawuli Dogbatse a National Service Person of the University for his bravery in his encounter with an armed robber on the 9th of November, 2010.

The Vice-Chancellor recounted the robbery event on the 9th of November, 2010, where James Dogbatse and Miss Elizabeth Schrodier, an American visitor, were attacked by an armed robber.

He congratulated James Mawuli Dogbatse on behalf of the University community for his courage in the exhibition of such bravery when confronted by a notorious armed robber.

The Vice-Chancellor further stated that, the timely intervention of five KNUST Security guards facilitated the arrest of the armed robber.

A citation was presented to Mawuli by the Vice-Chancellor.
