The University Relations Office (URO) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has held a day’s workshop for student journalists, writers and bloggers at the Gardiner Conference Room, Great Hall, KNUST. This marks the second edition of the URO media interaction with various internal writers and bloggers to sensitize them on how to project the brand of the University.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, the University Relations Officer, commended the bloggers for their immense contribution towards improving the visibility of the University. He however appealed to them to continue using their various media, blogs and websites to project the University in a positive light.
He mentioned that, as the nation is still fighting the novel Coronavirus pandemic, the University Management has instituted a number of safety measures to help fight the pandemic which includes; the constitution of Covid-19 ambassadors, frequent fumigation of all traditional halls and hostels on and outside KNUST Campus, placing of hand sanitizers at vantage points in every department in the University, installation of handwashing accessories at vantage points, screening of persons before they access offices and lecture halls and the establishment of isolation and treatment centres to manage Covid-19 cases.
Dr. Bekoe advised the student bloggers to use their various platforms to build strong networks with some of the established media houses in the country and Internationally.
He appreciated their professionalism exhibited throughout the first semester of the 2020/2021 Academic Year and advised them to adhere to all the Covid-19 safety protocols during their line of work.
