The Director of Global Health and Community Engagement, Professor Hartley Feld and Professor Melody Ryan of the University of Kentucky, have paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso.
Briefing the Vice Chancellor on the purpose of the visit, the Provost of the Health Sciences, KNUST, Professor Adu Sarkodie mentioned that last year, the College of Health Sciences on behalf of the University signed an MoU with Kentucky University to address staff and student exchange program, support for PhD programs of study, among other issues of collaboration. The purpose of their visit, therefore, was to discuss how to implement the agreements reached between the two institutions.
Welcoming the delegation from Kentucky, Professor Obiri-Danso was appreciative of their visit. He stated that in the past, there have been numerous universities who have signed MoU with KNUST but have not been in force. He hoped that the collaboration would go a long to enhance the growth of both institutions.
According to Professor Melody Ryan, KNUST is much aligned to University of Kentucky in relation to the Health Sciences programmes (Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health) offered. Consequently, she is of the hope that both institutions would benefit from each other.
