The State Insurance Company (SIC) has donated twenty (20) brand-new HP desktop computers to the Prempeh II Library of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Friday, 12th November 2021, at the Council Chamber.
Nana Yaw Mantey, SIC's Head of Corporate Affairs, reaffirmed SIC's lifelong commitment to KNUST. The desktop PCs, he explained, were supplied to enhance KNUST's online teaching and learning.
Mr. Stephen Oduro, the Managing Director of SIC, spoke on behalf of the team and informed the management of KNUST that SIC is committed to helping the University in the coming years.
On behalf of Management, the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson extended her gratitude to the team for their unwavering support to the University. She praised them for sticking to their word and delivering as scheduled.
Professor Dickson stated that as the University continues to adopt online education in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak, the computers will go a long way toward enhancing effective training and learning of future leaders who will be relevant beyond Africa's borders. The Vice-Chancellor used the occasion to seek further support from corporate organisations for needy students as the school prepares to welcome students for the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
