A 19-member delegation from the Police Ladies Association (POLAS) of the Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, at the Council Chamber of the University. The delegation was led by Superintendent Mary Affanyi, the Manhyia Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) Commander.

During the visit, Superintendent Mary Affanyi expressed the group's appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, who has been appointed as the Patron of the Association. Superintendent Affanyi congratulated Professor (Mrs.) Dickson on her recent reappointment as Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, acknowledging her leadership and achievements.
"We are here to seek advice and guidance from our esteemed Patron," Superintendent Affanyi stated. "We also want to extend our heartfelt congratulations on the renewal of your appointment as Vice-Chancellor of KNUST. Your leadership is an inspiration to us all."

In response, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson expressed her gratitude for the recognition and being chosen as the patron of POLAS. She commended the delegation for their dedication to maintaining peace and order in the country and the Ashanti Region in particular, emphasising the crucial role of the Police in creating a conducive environment for education and national development.
“Your work in safeguarding the peace and order in our nation is invaluable. Without a peaceful environment, there can be no calm atmosphere for education. I applaud the tremendous work you are doing for our country," Professor (Mrs.) Dickson remarked.
