A beneficiary of the Less Endowed Admission Policy, Mr. Thomas Sevordzi, has honoured KNUST by presenting an appreciative citation to the University. The Less Endowed Admission Policy was set up by the University to assist needy but brilliant students by awarding scholarship to such students to assist them in the study of their chosen programmes.
Mr. Thomas Sevordzi is a final year student of Business Administration (BSc. Accounting Option) through the assistance of a scholarship given by the University from the Less Endowed Admission Policy. He hails from Dzita in the Volta Region but resides in Shama in the Western Region. He had his secondary education in Shama Senior High School. He showed gratitude to the University through a citation on the successful completion of his studies.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W. O. Ellis commended Mr. Sevordzi for the kind gesture shown to the University. He recounted the a brief history of the Less Endowed Admission Policy where he mentioned that the policy was set up by the University during the late Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Andam's tenure, to support less endowed students from poorly resourced schools in the country, to obtain University education.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged Mr. Sevordzi to employ the skills and knowledge acquired from his studies in contributing his quota to society. He said that the University was proud of him for deeming it prudent to express his appreciation to the University for the immense contribution towards his studies.
Prof. W. O. Ellis told Mr. Sevordzi to continue to strengthen his faith in God at all times.
Dr. Mrs. Lebene Tetteh of the Department of Modern Languages, College of Art and Social Sciences was also present.
