The Pre-school section of KNUST Basic School has organised a staff training workshop on Positive Behaviour Management as part of efforts to strengthen professional development and improve classroom learning outcomes.
The workshop brought together staff of the Pre-school section to explore practical approaches to managing learner behaviour in a positive and supportive manner.

Facilitating the session was Dr. Esther Ohenewa, a lecturer at the Department of Behavioural Science at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and a parent of the school. She shared practical strategies and insights aimed at helping teachers create more engaging and learner-friendly classroom environments.
Speaking at the workshop, the Deputy Head of the school, Mrs. Olivia Ayensu, underscored the importance of continuous professional development for staff, noting that such training programmes equip teachers with the skills needed to respond effectively to the changing needs of learners.
According to school authorities, the initiative forms part of broader efforts by the school to promote excellence in teaching and learning through regular staff capacity-building programmes.
The training was well received by participants, who described the session as insightful, practical and relevant to their daily classroom experiences.
