KNUST has established a Business Development Office with the appointment of Mr. RALPH NYADU-ADDO as its first Business Development Officer.
The Office will co-ordinate the activities of the Kumasi Business Incubator, design and develop programmes that would attract corporate institutions, professional bodies, event organisers, fund managers etc to transact business with KNUST. It will also initiate and implement fundraising and other public programmes to enhance the products and services of KNUST. It will further collaborate with the Colleges to develop mechanisms for communicating and harmonising business, investments and sponsorship opportunities for the university among others. Through these, KNUST seek to positively brand the university as a Centre of Excellence in science, technology and business.
Mr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo is a self motivated person with a high consciousness for time and business ethics. He is a lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Small Business and has since 2005 held the positions of Liaison officer for Industrial and Professional Relations in the College of Art and Social Sciences (CASS). He has since 2007 held the position of Chairman, KNUST/NBSSI Business Incubator Programme (now Kumasi Business Incubator). He holds a Master of Small Business Studies from the Universität Leipzig, Germany and B.A. (Book Industry) from KNUST.
He has worked in Compuprint Ghana Ltd (Publishers of P&P Newspaper) and Kattous Printhouse Ltd. as General Manager. He worked as intern at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Leipzig, Germany, Kuehne & Nagel (Logistics and IT company), Gaetringen-Stuttgart, Germany, Catholic Standard Newspaper, Nsamankow Printing Press, Accra.
He is singularly credited with the proposed 3.6 million Commercial Complex to be put up by HFC Bank at KNUST. In 2006 and 2010 he received from CASS-KNUST two special awards for innovation, fundraising and entrepreneurship development. He assisted the Provost (as the first IPR-CASS officer) to raise almost one million Ghana Cedis in investments, scholarships, chairs, exchange programmes etc for CASS and KNUST.
Mr. Nyadu-Addo is the immediate past representative of the College of Art and Social Sciences, on KNUST Academic Board; Member, The Small Enterprise Promotion Network (SEPnet, Worldwide); Member, Steering Committee on KNUST Technology Park among others.
He has travelled extensively attending academic/business fairs and presented over eighteen academic papers in conferences and worshops in Ghana, Tanzania, Germany (Leipzig, Dresden, Wuppertal, Bonn, Dusseldorf, Hannover, Berlin, Hamburg, Aachen, Frankfurt A.M, Heidelberg, Mainz, Cologne, Bremen) and the Netherlands (Utrech, Purmarend, Amsterdam), United Kingdom (Birmingham and London), USA (New York, New Jessey, Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC).
He is a consultant to a number of institutions in Ghana and abroad. He is a motivational speaker, coach and mentor. He speaks English, German, Twi, Ga and Guan (Okere). Ralph is married with children.
