Following the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University and HFC Bank for the construction of a four-storey Commercial Complex estimated at the cost of Six Million, Five Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (¢6.5 Million), a delegation from HFC Bank has called on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa to discuss the commencement of the project.
Outlining the scope of the project, the leader of the delegation and Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Asare Akuffo said, the Bank is ready to award the contract and hoped that the sod-cutting would take place very soon. He further stated that, the scope of the project has changed. The base floor of the complex would serve as a car park lot; the first floor would also shelter four banks whilst other floors would have a range of services such as ICT workshop, Bookshop, Cafeteria, among others.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. K. K. Adarkwa pleasantly welcomed the delegate and commended them for their big-hearted initiative which is expected to be completed in 24 months. He also expressed his excitement concerning what the bank had done for the University and prayed that, the collaboration would mutually add value to the parties. He also hoped that the project would come into fruition on time.
