From an Evolution to a Revolution...
From the rising of the Sun to its setting at dusk, just like before, another KNUST regime is ending; whereas another is about to begin. From the ends of KNUST we remember our able Vice chancellor; Prof K.K Adarkwa. KNUST has been recreated over the past four years. We appreciate the works and achievements of our vice chancellor. We say Ayeekoo to his team as well. KNUST will forever remember you.
The sudden metamorphosis of the royal parade grounds and the outstanding transformation of the Paa Joe, actually Paa Adarkwa stadium is still a mystery we're currently solving! As for your secret wardrobe of ideas, we are yet to discover!
When we mention academics, you're high above the waters, no doubt the school was ranked among the first 100 universities for the first time in Africa at your regime, ranking at 30th last year, and then 20th on February 11 this year using such criteria as Quality of Education; Internationalization; Research Output; Impact; and Prestige. What a great moment to be part of KNUST; no wonder the sudden influx of foreign students on our campus over the past few academic years! Definitely, an academic giant would play a part in this! As if not enough, you commissioned the new e-learning centre to facilitate distance learning, now we can enjoy more sleep and recover our lectures later by electronic means, giving ample time to enjoy our league matches too!
The Business School/Institutes' Offices, College of Science Complex, Street Lighting Projects, The Transport Vehicle Park Fence, Rehabilitation of Eight Staff Bungalows Expansion And The Application Of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to mention but a few are all results of your incredible ideas. In fact, KNUST has come this far owing to these.
From your cherished students, we say we're so proud of you! In fact, you are a daddy to us as you recurrently join us for our Sunday congregations. What an outstanding Vice Chancellor! When we cried out because of our high tuition fees, you acted in our response and moderated the fees. It is difficult to believe you're leaving us and we wish we were only dreaming. How we anticipate you could be with us for just one more year. Nevertheless we know you have set a fore ground for the next stream of Vice chancellors to come. We join you to celebrate your great achievements.
From your lecturers and staff, we congratulate you. The institution can boast of outstanding and internationally recognized lecturers who administer to make the university what it is today.
Now to the world: Accumulate from all nations, all people and tribes, as we join to celebrate the achievements of another great leader, Prof K. K Adarkwa. Come and see the product of KNUST. Bring your wards for better education. From across the Great Pyramids of Egypt to the Great Pool of Bashan; from the Victoria Islands of Canada to the Victoria Falls of Zambia; from the research centers of Antarctica to the prime coasts of Madagascar; from the Lighthouse of Alexandria to the Great walls of China.
