The College of Art and Built Environment (CABE) of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has held its maiden College Awards at the Senior Staff Club House to celebrate the College’s excellence and honour its hardworking staff.
In his introduction remarks, Professor John. T. Bugri, of the Department of Land Economy, recalled how the college had braced the odds through the times. ‘At KNUST, CABE which was established fifteen (15) years ago has thrived on excellence’, he said. ‘Today’s gathering is a maiden event that is not only recognising outstanding staff for their contributions to the College, but it is to acknowledge the outgoing Provost of the College for his contributions to the development of the College.
Mr. Henry Akosah, Dr. Emmanuel Adinyira, Dr. Joe Adu-Agyem won the Best Senior Member (Non-Teaching), Best Senior Member (Publications and Research) and Best Senior Member (Teaching) respectively.
The other winners were Miss Grace Appiah (Best Senior Staff), Mr. Kenneth K. Nyadi (Best Junior Staff) and Department of Planning (Best Department). They each received a certificate and a plaque.
For his invaluable and distinguished service to the College, the staff rewarded the outgoing Provost of CABE, Professor Joshua Ayarkwa, with citation.
The Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson who represented the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the staff for their service to the College. To her, every worker deserved praises. She advised the staff to extend the support they provided to the outgoing Provost, Professor Joshua Ayarkwa to Professor J. T. Bugri as he assumes office as the Provost of the College.
