The Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson has led a distinguished delegation to the Manhyia Palace to pay solemn tribute to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, as part of the ongoing Dɔte Yie observances.
The delegation included the Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. David Asamoah, Registrar, Mr. Benjamin Boampong Owusu; former Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng; as well as Provosts, Deans, Directors, and other senior members of the university.
Their presence reflected the deep respect KNUST holds for the Asantehemaa and the enduring ties between the University and the Golden Stool.
Earlier in the day, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene and Chancellor of KNUST, filed past the remains of his traditional mother, accompanied by Nananom in a moving display of royal reverence.
The Queen Mother lay in repose at the Palace, where members of the public also gathered to pay their respects.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III is remembered for her wisdom, dignity, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of Asante customs. Her legacy continues to inspire generations across Asanteman and beyond.
