Management of the KNUST Junior High School has launched its maiden edition of the 2022 Creativity Day under the theme ‘The Creative Mind, a Lifetime Resource’ on Wednesday, 13th July 2022.
According to the Deputy Head of the KNUST JHS, Mr. Eric Oti-Attah, the School’s mission is not only to train academicians but to also equip students to produce creative innovations and technologies. He noted that creativity is not just about drawing, thus charged the students to apply the knowledge learnt in class into reality and develop technologies that would positively impact and change their community and the world at large.
The Chairperson of the Creativity Day Planning Committee, Mrs. Dorothy Adamtey, said that the main objective of the committee is to train creative minds that will remain a lifetime resource if nurtured properly. This she added, informed Management’s decision to give students the opportunity to showcase what they can do. ‘The Creativity Day is here to give you the platform to breathe life into the ideas you have in your mind. Create it, experiment it, nurture it, and perfect it, for you are the next genius to define the next path the world would take,’ She explained.
Mrs. Adamtey encouraged the students to endeavour to be creative and eager to let the world know the quality of ideas they possess. She further challenged them to be adventurous and put together their creative minds and ideas. She disclosed that the event expected to hold for four weeks would be climaxed on 10th August 2022.
Launching the event, the Chairperson of KNUST Basic School Management Board, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicity Asiedu Appiah was hopeful that the students would seize the opportunity to showcase their special talents and come up with practical solutions to problems they observe in their communities, country and the world at large.
