Dr. Yen Adams Sokama-Neuyam, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering at KNUST, has been awarded a U.S.-Africa Frontiers Fellowship by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
The prestigious fellowship includes a travel grant and supports high-impact collaboration between African and American scientists. Dr. Sokama-Neuyam was selected alongside Prof. Virginia Smith for the award, which recognizes excellence in science, engineering, and innovation.
The fellowship is administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and aims to strengthen global research partnerships.
In a letter confirming the award, Dr. Dalal Najib, Senior Director for Science and Engineering Capacity Development at NASEM, congratulated Dr. Sokama-Neuyam and encouraged him to continue his impactful research efforts.
