The 1998-Year Group of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FPPS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has donated Tablet Dissolution Test Apparatus, Digital Tablet Disintegration Test Apparatus, and a Tablet Friability Test Apparatus to the product evaluation laboratory of the Department of Pharmaceutics.
This state-of-the-art equipment presented on Friday, October 1, 2021 are necessary for the evaluation of the quality of formulated solid dosage forms such as tablets.
Presenting the items, the President of the Year Group, Mr. Stephen Bonnah informed the Faculty of the Group’s commitment to support the Faculty in any way they could.
According to the Vice-Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Professor K. Ofori Kwakye, the donated equipment will improve research and help increase the number of post graduate students in the department.
The Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and a member of the Group, Professor Stephen Yao Gbedema thanked his mates for their swift response to the needs of the department. He stated that the donated equipment will aid teaching and learning, as well as research in the department and the entire University.
Dr. (Mrs.) Mariam El Boakye-Gyasi, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Pharmaceutics was hopeful that the research and teaching output of the Department would increase significantly and offer more practical experience to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
