Vacancies for Project Staff; Centre for Business Development
KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, KUMASI
The Centre for Business Development (CBD) is a business/investment Think-Tank for the University. The aim of CBD is to spur the growth and success of business start-ups through the provision of resources such as Technical Consultancy Services, Entrepreneurship Skills Development, Links to Institutional Support Systems, Market Integration Support in Coaching and Mentoring and thus help reduce youth unemployment in Ghana. The activities of the CBD include Business Plan Development, Business Communication, Corporate Governance, Ideas Development, Creativity and Innovation Management and Product Development among others. The CBD has been awarded a contract worth $500,000 by the World Bank through the Ministry of Communication, under the eTransform Project, to establish the KUMASI INNOVATION HUB (KI-Hub) within the middle-belt of Ghana to serve start-ups in the digital space. The Project is expected to establish itself as an Innovation Hub by expanding its capacity in the area of walk-in Maker’s Space where people can spend time on idea development up to prototype stage. In order to deliver on this mandate, KI-Hub wishes to apply part of its funding for the recruitment of staff into the following portfolios:
Master in Business Administration or any other related area with 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
The person must have a background in Marketing, Project Management, Enterprise Development, Operations of NGOs or Social Enterprise Management. He/She must also be able to appraise grant and recover loans, write business plans and project reports. Ability to source for funds/sponsorship will be an added advantage.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or any relevant area with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
The person must be knowledgeable in Marketing or Strategic Management or Consulting or Enterprise Development in addition to developing and promoting new business ventures, business plan development, financial modelling and project reporting.
Ability to source for funds/sponsorship will be an added advantage.
BSc Computer Science or any relevant area with at least 3 years working experience
The successful candidate must be able to provide support for software developers in the following coding languages: PHP, Java, Python, Visual Basic as well as knowledge in Server Management and computer networking, etc.
BSc Computer Engineering or any relevant area with at least 3 years working experience
The successful candidate must be able to maintain and oversee operations of the ICT equipment and any other hardware infrastructure.
BSc. Communication Design or any relevant area with at least 2 years working experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing communication materials and provide multimedia related services. He/she must have knowledge in website design and social media technologies.
TECHNICIANS (2 PLACES)
Minimum of HND in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering or any relevant area with at least 3 years working experience
The successful candidates will provide support to the ICT Officer and the Computer Engineer.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
- The Appointment shall be on full-time basis.
