The College of Engineering has held a workshop dubbed “RenD Workshop” with the object of promoting research and development projects in the field of energy. The aim of the Workshop was to study and promote biogas as an alternative means of generating energy to supplement the already existing hydro-electric and thermal plants in the country.

A two-man delegation from Komos Energy has paid a visit to KNUST to make a presentation on the prospects of the oil industry in Ghana to staff and students of the Department of Petroleum Engineering.

Through a collaboration between the Chemical Engineering Department of KNUST and a private waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a pilot project aimed at sorting wastes from selected households in the Asokwa Sub-Metro area of Kumasi has been launched.
